Make sure to bring to every class:
Peer-Review
An essential part of this course is a peer-review of writing assignments.
In order for you to be doing that successfully, you need to make the following preparations for each class:
Post weekly homework writing assignment in Dropbox by Sunday 11pm.
Homework assignments must contain your full proper name and the assignment number/title both on the top of the page and in the file name.
Example of the file name:
Tom_Smith_week4.pdf
IMPORTANT!
Print out assignment and bring hard copy to class on Monday.
We will take class time every Monday to peer-review assignments and make comments.
Criteria for review will be provided in each of these occasions.
Papers will be returned on that same day, so you’ll have instant feed-back on your writing. Missing class that day means that you are missing the opportunity to give and receive peer-review.
There are 8 short writing assignments in total. Missing the peer review on more than 3 will result in failing (E) grade and no credit earned.
TA and instructor will read the posted assignment during the week. You should check back to the dropbox to read comments and see the point value on your paper.
You are expected to consider revisions in time; do not leave them for the final week. If a thorough rewrite is necessary, you will be asked to resubmit that by a certain date.
IMPORTANT!
Your weekly writing assignments form the backbone of your final project. Compile, revise, edit your weekly papers, then once you have a concept for the structure, complement them with additional writings in order to make a coherent final paper about contemporary visual art.
