Biostat 580B - Statistical Genetics Seminar

Fall Quarter 2005
Seminar: Tuesday 4:00-5:00, in F643 HSB

CURRENT SCHEDULE

Oct. 4 Organizational meeting. Bring, written down on a piece of paper, general topic(s) you would be interested in reading about that are pertinent to the broad field of statistical genetics. If you have any specific articles from the literature to suggest, write those down as well. We will (as usual) pick one or more areas for literature review, for weeks in which we do not have a research presentation, and we will set up the rest of the quarter's schedule.

Oct. 11 Yun Ju Sung: Research Presentation: "Linkage analysis for two loci plus a polygenic component"

Oct. 18 We will use this day for practice talks and to give feedback on draft posters for people who will be attending the IGES and/or ASHG meetings. The people that I am aware will be presenting at these meetings are: Liping Tong, Bill Stewart, Adele Mitchell, Elisabeth Rosenthal, Garrett Hellenthal, Bertrand Servin, Paul Scheet, and Yun Ju Sung. Liping has a talk; the others have posters, so I would suggest that the first 15 minutes Liping can give her talk, and the rest of the hour people can circulate and provide feedback on posters. Maybe we can split the second half of the hour into two parts, with so many people having posters.
