Students may take the Lab as a choice of sequences as follows: 1) REQUIRED: Spring Quarter 4-credit preparatory course, URBDP 598J (MW 10:30-11:50 Gould 440). As part of this course, students will participate in an intensive China-US Professional Workshop on Regional Sustainable Development with professionals from China and the Puget Sound region, May 5-9. PLUS, EITHER ONE or BOTH of the following courses: 2) Summer Quarter Field Studio in China, June 24-July 20 (Session A), for Foreign Study credit that is convertible to variable amounts of studio credit, independent study or other required or selective credit to suit each student’s program. For example, for students in the Urban Design or Historic Preservation Certificate and/or the Master of Urban Planning programs, the course can count as an urban design or historic preservation studio and/or a second-year planning studio (equivalent to UrbDP 508). 3) Autumn Quarter 5-credit studio URBDP 508 (or possibly the 6-credit studio LARCH 503). |
