Have a question? Who should you contact?

  • For questions regarding course mechanics (i.e., podcasting, CD-ROM's, special needs/requests), contact Teri Alvarado by phone at 221-5335 or via email at teria@u.washington.edu.
  • For questions about lecture material, homework, etc., try the GoPost message board. Your question will be answered by a fellow student or a TA. For technical help: University of Washington GoPost Help Center
  • To contact a TA directly, check the Faculty/TAs page for email addresses.
  • To contact Professor Klevit or Professor Davis directly (and privately), use bioc440@u.washington.edu.

How to access GradeBook

  • Login to MyUW and select "Catalyst Web Tools" (typically in your Quick Links box)
  • Login to Catalyst and star all new tools if prompted at the top of the Catalyst Account Page. If you do not star all new tools, Biochemistry 440 GradeBook might be hidden from view.
  • Select the Biochemistry 440 GradeBook. You can also filter the list to only display GradeBook entries.

Trouble receiving quizzes?

Links to online quizzes are automatically generated and distributed to registered students via email. In the past, some issues have arisen due to student email settings.

  • Ensure that your University of Washington email has ample free space.
  • Email forwarding can result in the quiz link being flagged as SPAM or not delivered.
  • Please note:

  • Quiz links are unique and you will not be able to access the quiz using a fellow student's link.
  • Professors and TAs cannot change the email distribution settings.
  • Receipt of emails from the Biochemistry 440 class email list does not necessarily guarantee receipt of the automated quiz emails.
  • The first week of class, an ungraded quiz will be distributed with the automated system to allow you to verify your email settings

You can also access the quiz through your catalyst tools. Follow the instructions for finding your grades, only search for WebQ (the check mark) rather than Grade Book. The quiz will not appear on your catalyst tools until it has been opened, so make sure you "star all new tools" when you log in on Friday.

Class Email List

All registered students are automatically subscribed to the Professors' Info Email List. We will use the List to post announcements about the course from Professor Klevit, Professor Davis and TA's.

Podcasting Instructions

All registered students can subscribe to the Bioc440 Podcast. For information about Podcast: University of Washington Podcast Help Center

To print multiple pages per sheet from your computer

For Mac Platforms:

In any application one can go to the File->Print dialog and by pulling on the menu within the dialog window get to "Layout". There, there will be options setting the number of pages per sheet.

For Windows Platforms:

The trouble with windows is that "multiple pages per sheet" printing is accomplished by the printer-specific driver. Thus, if the printer or the driver doesn't support such mode of printing the task cannot be performed.

Nevertheless:

In the File->Print dialog locate the Properties button. This will open the printer driver dialog, where you might find either a set of explicit options (discussing the number of pages per sheet) or a pull-down menu or a fill-in menu where the user would indicate the number of pages per sheet.
