Lecture Material and Notes Week 3, Lecture 7: Models
of actomyosin motors Lecture theme and outline: Intrduction to kinetic simulations of cross-bridge theory. These models will be mass-action, state models. The 2-state model can describe a variety of mechanical, kinetic and energetic properties of cross-bridges. However, more complex kinetic models are necessary to simulate things like the effect of Pi and Ca2+ regulation. These chemomechanical transduction models have great potential to be coupled to cellular energetics models to create a more complex and complete picture of sarcomeric function. This lecture will include practical guides for student work outside lecture hours on models. |
