BMD interpretation mistakes - case 12

This 47 year old healthy Asian woman with menopausal symptoms had a bone density for screening purposes.

The radiology report stated:

47-year-old Oriental male with concerns about osteoporosis. . . Therefore, at present significant osteoporosis is noted at the spine, with significant osteopenia noted at the hip. There is increased risk for fracture at both skeletal sites at the present time as predicted by bone mineral density. (WHO criteria for bone loss: -1 to 2.5 T-score, osteopenia; below -2.5 T-score, osteoporosis; below -2.5 T-score with fragility fracture, severe osteoporosis.)
