Welcome to First-Year Chinese at the University of Washington. There are two tracks in the Chinese program: Heritage and Non-Heritage. The Heritage section is for those students who have some background in Chinese. The Non-Heritage section is for those students who have no background in Chinese. · NJ Star - A simple to use, 30-day evaluation, word processing program.

· Adobe Acrobat Reader - You need this to read PDF files.

· Real Player - This is needed to listen to various audio files.

· Quicktime Player - This is for the Integrated Chinese Workbook and Textbook audio files stored at the Language Learning Center (LLC).
