Monday 3/27
Read our course syllabus thoroughly, then re-read the quotations punctuating the syllabus. Each quotation touches on ideas about writing. Give some thought to writing. Many diverse and talented people have devoted their lives to thinking about writing, and to writing about writing. Your first writing assignment is to find and record a passage dealing with writing or the writing process, and write a paragraph explaining why you find it interesting, memorable, difficult, or elusive!! (Due Wednesday, 3/29)

Read "The Lake
Isle of Innisfree" (BP, p. 503) and "For Once, Then, Something"

Examine our 3 sample essays (CP, pp. 31-36). Rate each according to grading criteria for writing (page 2 of our syllabus).
