Stuff you will need for the tours

There is a worksheet you will fill out on each tour, so bring a pencil/pen.  You may also want to bring a clipboard.  You will be required to provide your own PPE (personal protective equipment).  See other side of sheet for the required equipment and suggested purchase locations.

Getting there

You are responsible for your own transportation to the tour sites.  The addresses are listed above for you to find directions.  Plan enough time to arrive about 5 minutes early so tours can start promptly.  We encourage you to form car pools.

You must sign up for either section 1 or 2.  Your assigned time will be for both tours.  If you have a class immediately following lab, you should sign up for the earlier slot.  If you don't, please consider signing up for the later slot to leave room for these students.

Personal Protective Equipment

For the lab portion of the class, you will be required to provide your own PPE (personal protective equipment).   The PPE required for the class consists of:  a safety vest, saftey glasses, a hardhat, and sturdy closed-toe shoes (hiking boots/work boots recommended).  Also, long pants will be required when going on the tours.

Below are approximate prices and locations of where you can purchase the PPE.  Home Depot and the Safety and Supply Company have larger quantities on hand.  The Safety and Supply Company has a minimum purchase amount of $25, so keep that in mind when going there.  The True Values only stock about 3 hardhats or so at a time.  You may want to call and verify stock if you plan on going to either of the True Values.
