Continuity Curriculum

Background

During the recent curriculum review, a working committee recommended that all UWSOM students have a continuity of care experience. The exact nature of the experience was not defined but the experience was envisioned to begin in the preclinical years. The preclinical portion of the curriculum outlined below includes two main components — a two-part patient-centered experience and a physician-centered experience. These must be completed by the end of first year. All students will be required to complete the minimum requirements of the continuity curriculum outlined below prior to entering the third-year clerkships, but can complete multiple experiences if they desire.
