The Community Design Studio is part of a service-learning curriculum in the Department of Landscape Architecture at University of Washington. Through the studio and community-university partnership, students and faculty in the department work with local communities in the Pacific Northwest and abroad to develop projects that promote community building and sustainability. Recent studio projects include: Palmer, Alaska: Landscape Design of Communities Envisioning Burlington: Community Deisng Studio Quanzhou, China: Community Planning and Urban Design The department's work is featured in the case study series on community-university partnership published by University of Washington's Office of Educational Partnerships and Learning Technologies. |
