Brightwater Wayfinding Scavenger Hunt

The Brightwater Environmental Education Center (EECC) was built by King County as mitigation for the Brightwater treatment facility.  The goal of the Center is to educate and motivate the public about environmental stewardship and build local community. The EECC has 70 acres of natural and restored habitats that include wetlands, forest, ponds, streams, and open grassland areas. The site also features Platinum LEED-certified buildings including an interactive exhibit hall, classrooms and conference/event spaces.

The aim of this project would be to engage community members (upper elementary students – adults) who visit the Center in exploring the EECC in a self guided discovery scavenger hunt.  The scavenger hunt should be engaging and educational and can include the exhibit hall and/or outside natural areas; or could include (2) scavenger hunts – one highlighting the outside natural water areas and one focusing on the exhibit hall elements.  The general subject of the scavenger hunt would involve water, wastewater treatment, conservation and technology.
