3.1 introduction
DreamweaverMX uses a site management scheme that requires
all files to be housed within a local root folder;
this allows you to exactly duplicate the hierarchy that's
on your hard drive when you upload files to the Web server.
The local root folder is the foundation; it is where all other files branch from, just like tree branches extend from roots and trunk. Think of your sub-directories like tree branches. Once you create a site, Dreamweaver will build a site cache file that contains the information about the location and names of your site files. If you re-arrange files or folders, or add new ones, Dreamweaver will keep track of them so long as they live in your local root folder.
