ONLINE QUIZ FAQ

During the remainder of the Quarter, we will have once weekly, online, open book quizzes. The following FAQs guide you through the process.

1. When will the online quizzes become available? 24 February, 3 March, 10 March. All start on a Tuesday.

2. How long will I have to answer the quizzes? Each quiz will be accessible for 24 hours, starting at 7pm on the date given above. Once you log in, you will have 15 mins to answer the question.

3. What material will be covered by each quiz? All material given in the previous week only (Monday to Friday, 4 lectures). The first quiz will comprise the first 4 animal physiology lectures.

4. How many points will be given for each quiz? 10 points each.

5. What does "open book" mean? It means that you can refer to your notes or text if you need to do so. Given the limited time, it really is in your best interests to review the lecture material before you start. This exercise has two goals - to expose you to the types of questions that will come up in the exams, and to help you revise the material in manageable chunks. We strongly advise you to not discuss the quiz with your colleagues - they may, after all, be wrong! Your grade relative to the rest of the class will also be affected. Answers that are exactly alike will not be graded (in all the years we have been grading these types of questions, we have not seen exactly the same written answers).

6. How can I access the quizzes? Links are given below as they become available. We will also email the links each week to the class email list.

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU LOG IN

1. You have 24 hours to take the quiz. Log in only when you feel ready.

2. The timer starts once you log in. A timer appears on the right hand side of your browser, but don't let it intimidate you! You have 15 mins to answer.

3. Take time to read the questions. Enter your response in the box provided.

4. There is no limit to the length of answer you give. However, we recommend that you keep it short (bullets are ok) because you only have 15 mins. Ambiguous answers will receive fewer points.

5. The browser will close at 15 miins. All answers entered, including incomplete ones, will be saved and submitted to us.
