ASSIGNMENTS Homework 1
Papers will be due on Friday, October 23rd. Please choose a pathogen/microorganism and write a 2-5 page paper covering the topics in the attached document. Papers should not exceed 5 pages in length. Click here to download the pathogen profile guide. Students should each choose a different pathogen/microorganism. Let's keep it diverse -- you can choose a virus, bacteria, fungi, helminth (worm), protozoa, etc. Graduate student presentations should be 10-15 min and cover the material discussed in the paper. Pathogen profile presentations on Wednesday, October 21st and Friday, October 23rd for graduate students.
Homework 2
Homework 2 will be due on Monday, November 30th. Click here to download Homework #2 questions. CV (Curriculum vitae) due Monday, October 5th. Each student will be required to provide a 1-2 page CV describing the student's background and interests. If you do not have a CV already, a paragraph describing your background and interests in microbiology is acceptable. Please complete the assigned reading and questions in preparation for the guest lecture on Monday, November 23. EXAMS Mid-term Exam
Friday October 30, 2009 at 12:30 Midterm exam will consist primarily of short answer questions, but may include multiple choice, and fill-in the blank questions as well. Exams will be conducted during a scheduled course period. Exam will be open book and open note. Example Mid-Term

Final Exam
Thursday, December 17, 2009 Final Exam will be offered on December 17th 8:30-10:20. Final exam will be comprehensive and will consist of short answer multiple choice, true/false-explain, and problem solving questions. Exam will be open book and open note. |
