Reisha Abolofia is a senior at the University of Washington, majoring in journalism. Reisha works at Trader Joe’s and enjoys cooking, practicing martial arts and spending time with friends and family. |
| Shamia Buksh is communications major at UW, with an emphasis in public relations. When she is not in school or working she likes to spend time catching up with family and friends, go shopping, dine at exotic restaurants, work out and play tennis. | |

Erin Flaherty is a junior at the University of Washington, majoring in political science and communications. She hopes to one day travel the world doing a broadcast program about human and environmental rights violations. |
| Nate Fortier is a junior in the Program on the Environment at the University of Washington. A native to the Northwest, he has a strong appreciation for nature and spends most of his free time outdoors. As a reporter for Sound News, Nate hopes to inspire the public to be more aware of how our lifestyles effect the environment. | |

Jeanne Fulcher is an Environmental Studies major at the University of Washington and is graduating in the spring of 2009. She also interns at the Washington State Department of Ecology in the Shorelands and Environmental Assistance program. A Western Washington native, she is passionate about the Puget Sound and recognizes the importance of a healthy environment. |

Lyndsay Gordon is a Sophomore in Environmental Science and Resource Management and the Environmental Studies (or Program on the Environment) programs at the University of Washington Seattle Campus. The environment has been one of her passions as both a cause and a form of recreation primarily in the forms of backpacking, hiking, and SCUBA diving since a very young age. |

Clea Hersperger is a senior double majoring in Communication and Comparative History of Ideas. She was born in Switzerland and spent the first two years of university in France, at the American University of Paris. She loves Seattle and has lived here most of her life. |

Sarah Jeglum is a senior journalism major and disability studies minor. She spends most of her time serving as the editor in chief of the UW’s student newspaper, The Daily, and has been in different editorial positions at The Daily for the past two years. Sarah calls Wenatchee, Wash. home, where she spends her summers as a Forest Service firefighter. Sarah enjoys backpacking, rock climbing, camping, reading and writing. |

Christina Madden is a junior at the University of Washington. She is majoring in journalism and has a minor in Swedish. She works at a golf course and enjoys snowboarding. |

Maggie Murdoch is a native of Seattle who enjoys the warmth of the sun and listening to the sound of the rain. She has a background in restoration ecology, and works with Sustainable NE Seattle, a community group dedicated to building local resilience. A senior at the University of Washington, she hopes to continue to organize communities around social and ecological justice issues after graduation. |

Scott Nordquist is a senior at the University of Washington in Seattle studying Spanish and Communications. An avid skier and water sports enthusiast he spends his free time enjoying the many outdoor activities of the Pacific Northwest. |
| Erica Petru grew up in Oakland, California. As an Environmental Studies major in her second year at the University of Washington, her academic interests lie in agricultural studies and resource management. She spends her free time exploring and playing Ultimate Frisbee around the Puget Sound region. | |
| Emilia Ptak is double-majoring in Political Science and Environmental Studies. The Puget Sound is an integral part of Washington’s rich culture, yet rarely receives the recognition it deserves. She is involved with Sound News to give Puget Sound a voice by sharing its stories. | |

Tye Rogerson was born in Santa Barbara, Calif. and moved to Seattle at the age of nine. While working at the Woodland Park Zoo he realized there were comparatively enough humanitarians in the world. Currently he is an Environmental Studies junior at the University of Washington. |

Kaitlyn Sweeting is an International Studies and Communication major at the Univerity of Washington. She spent six weeks researching the relationship between the environment, media, and democracy in Athens, Greece last summer, and developed a strong interest in protecting the environment surrounding us. After graduating from the UW, Kaitlyn plans to attend law school. |

Nicole is a senior at the University of Washington majoring in Environmental Studies. Outside of school, she is also a wedding and nature photographer. |
