Subject: Bridge Ideas Individual Assignment 

The purpose of this assignment is to encourage all students to brainstorm ideas before meeting as a group to create a bridge design. Students are encouraged to research bridge designs on the web or through other resources before sketching their designs.  Another reason for this exercise is to get a feel for the number of sticks that will be required to span the distance without exceeding height and width constraints. 

Individual Assignment

Each team member needs to bring a minimum of 2 sketches of bridge designs to class.  The sketches do not have to be professionally drawn, but should clearly show the design idea.  Indicate dimensions on your sketches and draw each on a separate page.

Grading

Students will be graded on the completion of two sketches clearly showing the bridge dimensions. Bridge designs also must fit within the size limits outlined on the project handout.
