Subject: Simple Pathfinder Assignment

Group Assignment

Build and program a simple pathfinder robot to complete the following tasks.  Pay attention to the robot's durability and gearing while building!  Everyone on the team should take turns programming the robot.  

*Each person needs to program at least one of the tasks in Table 1:

Go forward for 2.5 second (set the power at 7).

 

 

Go backwards for 3 seconds (set the power at 1) - Can your robot move?

 

 

Maneuver a 30o turn.

 

 

Avoid obstacles to the left, right, and between the two tactile sensors as the robot moves forward.

 

 

Halt for 5 seconds when the robot drives over a dark spot.

 

 

Stop after receiving Message 1 and move forward after receiving Message 2 from the Master Controller.

 

 

Grading

Show the instructor or TA your robot after you finish programming each task (some can be completed at the same time).  Robots that complete all tasks on the list before the due date will receive full credit for this assignment.  Any tasks not completed by the due date will be awarded at reduced credit as they are completed.
