Subject: Rube Goldberg Prototype Design Team Assignment

The purpose of this assignment is to report the Rube Goldberg prototype design that your team came up with.

Team Assignment

In the first paragraph introduce your Rube Goldberg machine. Explain what the ultimate goal for your machine is. Next, sketch your design and label its parts. List the simple machines that you incorporated in your design. Describe all steps in your machine (provide drawings and illustrations). Include description of materials that you are going to use.

The tone of your memo should be formal and each idea should be explained clearly and concisely. Longer is not necessarily better (1 to 2 pages w/ figures). The layout of your memo should be similar to the format of this assignment with "To:", "From:", "Date:", and "Subject:" at the top and section headings throughout. Make sure to include your team name, the names of the team members, and the name of your Rube Goldberg machine (if you have one).

Grading

Students will be graded on the completion of the description and the sketches clearly showing the Rube Goldberg machine design.
