My undergraduate experience is in music and fine arts. I enjoy working in Burlington because it reminds me of my hometown in rural Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, the farms in my hometown have almost all been turned into developments. I hope that our studio class can help the citizens of Burlington preserve their valuable agricultural heritage. | |

I
have an undergraduate degree from Pacific Lutheran University in Business
Administration, a Juris Doctorate from the University of Oregon and a Masters
in the Laws of Taxation from Boston University. I practiced law for 11 years
for the City of Seattle as an assistant city attorney. I entered the University
of Washington Landscape Architecture program when I decided that it was
time for a career change.
Much of my community work as an assistant city attorney has been useful to me in our studio projects such as this one. I am mindful of the fact that no design is successful unless it works for those who use the space. I love working with the citizens of Burlington and incorporating citizen ideas into a design that will help make Burlington an even better place to live and work. |

Cragg

Amy studied rocks as a geology major during her undergraduate career. She then went on to explore urban housing issues by working in affordable housing and community development agencies after college. She grew up in a small Wisconsin town that is facing many of the same challenges that Burlington does, which makes this project very interesting and pertinent to her personal experience. Her interests include examining public space and how people can best participate in the creation of their environment. | Charlie

My
educational background is in geology but since college I have worked lots
of jobs in many places. As native westerner, I love the Skagit Valley
and all that it has to offer. The enthusiasm that the people of Burlington
have for this project is very inspiring and I look forward to presenting
options to help the town reach its goals. What has impressed me most about
Burlington is the connection between the people and the town, that and
the cinnamon rolls.

With
an undergraduate degree in geography, a lifelong interest in architecture
and several years spent in the business world, my interest in landscape
architecture comes from a few different perspectives. I've also been lucky
to do a fair amount of traveling and hope that all of my different experiences
combine to help me look at each new project from a unique viewpoint.
