Unit I: Connections—People, Technology, and Information
Overview
This week we begin the first unit of the course: Connections—People, Technology, and Information. This unit looks at the Internet, Web publishing, how people interact with Web pages, and how they search for and evaluate Web sites that convey information.
During this week, we start with what experienced computer users know. Then we examine search and replace, and learn about networking. And, of course, we look at the "network of networks," the Internet. We look at how data moves across the Internet and how it gets to the right destination. We watch a cool movie, "Warriors of the Net," and a fun animation. We start writing Web pages and marking them up with HTML.We learn to publish our work to the World!
