Homelessness is an issue in nearly every city and town. People enter situations which ultimately land them on the streets for one reason or another. We may assume we know why people become homeless. They are drunks, or unmotivated, or have squandered away their money. We know that these are some of our excuses for homelessness among adults. But what about the youth who are living on the streets? What is their story?

Homeless youth are in a unique situation. Ideally, they would be under the care of their parents or guardians, but for one reason or another this is no longer the case.

On this site, we have focused on homeless youth in Seattle. We have looked at the reasons behind homeless youth. This includes root causes, the demographics of the youth who are homeless, where they are concentrated, myths about homeless youth. We also look into homeless youth psychology, reasons why they may remain homeless and the possible consequences of life on the streets.

We have also researched local Seattle services and organizations to get a better idea of what is accessible to kids on the street.
