Creating a Wastewater Recycling Functional Plan

Lab 1 Geodatabase Development - 25 points
Students scope a problem, complete a database design and implement that database design for a functional planning decision situation associated wastewater recycling facilities.

Lab 2 Preliminary Analysis - 25 points
Students perform a preliminary analysis for a wastewater recycling facilities plan.

Lab 3 Final Analysis - 25 points
Students perform final analysis for a wastewater recycling facility plan.

Formulating a Natural Capital Improvement Program

Lab 4 Natural Capital Improvement Programming - 25 points
Students perform tradeoff analysis as part of a natural capital improvement programming decision situation as a way of prioritizing anticipated expenditures for the community.

Moving Forward with Natural Capital Project Implementation

Lab 5 Database Development for Capital Project Implementation - 25 points
Students extend the planning database to address capital project implementation. More data details are needed to characterize various impacts such as those related to traffic and wetlands.

Lab 6 Assessing Traffic and Environmental Impacts - 25 points
Students perform traffic and wetlands impact analysis for a wastewater recycling facility site.

Final Project - 50 points

Students (in three-person groups - mandatory) will choose an Urban GIS topic of interest to them and execute the project in multiple phases.
