    PLAGIARISM: Intended VS Unintended Plagiarism

"I didn't mean it!" Does Not Excuse Plagiarism
Both intentional and unintentional plagiarism are violations of the University's Academic Conduct Code and are unethical and dishonest.

Unintentional plagiarism because you do not know how to cite a reference (e.g., "It was on a website so I thought it was free!") or carelessness in note-taking or when "cutting and pasting" do not excuse plagiarism.
