  • Family History of Melanoma
  • Previous History of Melanoma
  • Intense freckling
      - as an adult (odds ratio of 6.2),
      - as a child (odds ratio 6.0)

  • Total number of moles
       (odds ratio for 15+ nevi on the arms compared to none = 3.8)

  • Easily sunburned skin
      
  • Light or red hair color
  • Blue eyes
  • Atypical nevi
  • Immunosuppression

  • Higher socioeconomic class
      (odds ratio of 2.4).
    This may be due to increased intermittent recreational sun exposure during "holidays."
