Abstract for Lecture #9 - (A) Chemical Kinetics, Simulation and Measurement, (B) Modulation - Demodulation Experiments in Chemical Instrumentation

The first part of this lecture shows how chemical kinetics schemes may be written as sets of simultaneous differential equations. These may be integrated by various methods. Examples are provided, including the classical Bellosov - Zhabotinsky oscillating chemical reaction.

Modulation-Demodulation experiments are discussed. It is shown how these signal processing schemes can lead to improved SNR when the experiment is plagued by additive noise which increases as the frequency of the experiment decreases.

You will receive a handout for this lecture.
