About the Site
My name is Erin Marcum, and I am creating this page as an assignment for a literature class at the University of Washington. This class is focused on the Harlem Renaissance and some of the key features within it.

This site consists of a number of different elements focusing on Zora Neale Hurston's novel, Their Eyes Were Watching God. There is a critical analysis discussing the representation of identity through the use of speech and silence in chapter 7 of the book. There is also an annotated passage from chapter 7 as well.  You will find the links to other sites which I found helpful when creating this site, and credits for the images on the Annotated Links and Image Credits page.
