Course Description

This course aims to build basic oral and written skills in the Latvian language. The first quarter of Latvian will emphasize basic vocabulary (about 500 most commonly used words) and grammar.  

The pace of the course may vary slightly from this syllabus. Generally, one or two worksheets will be assigned daily; quizzes and tests will be on Mondays, and essays will be assigned over the weekend.  

Grades will be based on weekly quizzes (20%), Four Chapter tests (30%), Final Examination (30%), and class participation (20%).
