Franklin Delano Roosevelt was born on January 30, 1882 in Hyde Park, New York. His mother was Sara Delano, and his father was James Roosevelt. James Roosevelt was a businessman. Sara Delano was born in Newburgh, New York to Warren Delano and Catherine Robbins. Sara Delano married James Roosevelt on October 7, 1880. Sara Delano was described as an intelligent debutante beauty in her youth. Franklin was her only child. Franklin Roosevelt married Anna Eleanor Roosevelt on March 17, 1905. She was from New York City, and the daughter of Elliott Roosevelt and Anna Hall Roosevelt. The Roosevelts had six children. President Franklin D. Roosevelt died of a cerebral hemorrhage on April 12, 1945 at his summer cottage in Warm Springs, Georgia. Anna Eleanor Roosevelt developed tuberculosis. She then died at her Manhattan home on November 7, 1962 at the age of 78.
