Project Elevator Pitch
May 13, 2014
You should provide a brief introduction to your project, drawing on content from your intermediate project report.
However, the model is an elevator pitch or 'boaster' for your project, so you want to highlight key points to gain the interest of your listeners. As such, you do not need to include many of the details requested for your project report. Instead, you can focus on the following:
- 1) What is the main problem your project targets?
- 2) Why is it interesting and challenging?
- 3) What is your approach?
- 4) Any interesting early findings
To streamline the process, you do not need to show slides, and you are not expected to field questions within the two minutes.
There are two options for the elevator pitch for online students.
- 1) We can allow you to speak directly through Adobe Connect. All you need is a working microphone with your computer, and an internet connection.
- 2) If you prefer, you can pre-record your team's (or your part of your team's pitch), and I can play that back in class. MP3s and WAV file usually work.
Let me know what you'd prefer (individually).
