Objectives

  • To help students acquire an in-depth understanding of the HyperText Markup Language (HTML).
  • To help students create useful websites for various organizations.
  • To equip students with ability to create and maintain Internet services.
  • To help students understand technical underpinnings of Internet access in sufficient detail to interact with Internet access vendors and/or systems support staff.
  • To help students identify tools and techniques for discovering new resources and services and remaining current with Internet activities.

Assignments

  • There will be eight assignments to cover topics such as Unix, ftp, telnet, graphics, basic and advanced HTML and CGI.
  • A presentation of a topic of your choice.
  • A group final project where students will design a useful website for an organization.
