Archidoris montereyensis

 

•Suborder:  Doridacea

 

•Family: Archidorididae

 

Commonly referred to as the Monterey Dorid or Monterey Sea Lemon.

 

Similar in appearance to the Anisodoris nobilis, but typically smaller with yellowish-brown gills.

 

Coloration:  Yellow to yellowish-green

 

Size:  Up to 7 to 12 cm. 

 

Habitat:  Rocky intertidal zones to 50 meters. 

 

Diet:  Bread crumb sponge (Halichondria panicea)

 

Range:  Alaska to California
