Petrolisthes cinctipes

Porcelain crabs were only found at North of Hole in the Wall on the Olympic Coast.  These crabs were found under rocks in the high intertidal area.  The unique characteristic for them is that they have extremely long red antennae that point straight back.  They were also very small in size, approximately 1 inch wide by ¾ inch long.  When they were picked up they often lost appendages in order to aid them in escaping.
