We started our San Juan trip on the Centennial off of Friday Harbor. Enjoying the boat ride. Enjoying the boat ride. Giovannina assists with the first dredge. With Peter at the winch. Our first haul was a little... sad...

But we did find some cool stuff... a lyre crab! And some hydroids... Dredge two went a little better. Geoff studying. The booty. Looking through the booty.

Now for the trawl. Quite a catch! Going through the catch. Going through the catch. Going through the catch. Going through the catch.

Going through the catch... what's this? Score! We only kept it briefly, and then let it go. (Photo by Holly) We were quick to get most of the critters back into the water, keeping a few samples to identify and study in the lab. The lab booty--Triopha! So many spot prawns. Triopha with one of many crabs. (Photo by Holly)
