Home Fox Island

Site Description:

Fox Island is near Gig Harbor. The portion that the class was interested in was divided by a large road at the main crossway onto the island. When we visited the site, the temperature was mid 50's with partly cloudy skies.

The west side of the site is rocky with deep crevaces. These crevaces are filled with sea stars and sea cucmbers. Fish were generally absent except for a single saddleback gunnel.

The east side of the site is a much sandier substrate. On this side, sculpins were present in low numbers in the water, but in high numbers in the sand dollar pool.
