Announcements

IMPORTANT NOTICE: The final exam is now OPTIONAL. Provided that you turn in a reasonable version of the final homework assignment by Monday 12/8, you can skip the final exam and receive the "potential" grade posted at the following locations (access requires your UW NetID):

https://catalysttools.washington.edu/gradebook/evalenti/719
for non-edge students or

https://catalysttools.washington.edu/gradebook/evalenti/720
for edge students.

Your "potential" grade is based on a final exam score equal to the mean of your midterm scores. You can improve your final grade by taking the final exam and scoring significantly better than the mean of your midterm scores.

For those taking the final exam (Wed. 8:30-10:20 AM), the coverage is comprehensive (the entire class, not just the material after midterm#2) and you can use 3 pages of notes.

EDGE students should be able to take the final exam at your usual site, but you may want to check with your proctor to make sure that your local arrangements are in place.

The Fourier Series notebook from 12/03/08 is posted on the download page.

HW#8 is posted on the assignments page

HW#7 can be turned in Wed. 11/26 or Mon. 12/1.

REMINDER: The final exam is scheduled for Wednesday 12/10 at 8:30 AM. The final exam will be comprehensive, and further details will be discussed in class.

An embellished version of the code demonstrated in class on Monday 11/3 is now available for download.

Exam #2 Stats: Mean ~90, Std. Dev. ~ 14

Exam #1 Stats: Mean 83.5, Std. Dev. ~15
