TITLE:
"Assessing Ambulatory
Function in
Patients with Ankle Arthritis: A Brief Survey of Current Methods"
ABSTRACT
Ankle arthritis afflicts people from a variety of backgrounds and
activity levels. As the condition worsens,
individuals may vary in terms of their overall ambulatory function.
Accurate and valid assessment of this
function can help clinicians in making surgical decisions, and provide
the means to determine intervention
efficacy. This seminar will summarize some of the current techniques
for assessing ambulatory function in
patients with ankle arthritis, ranging from patient perception to
detailed measures of individual bone motion
within the foot.
