Valerie Ross, MS



Valerie Ross MS is a family therapist and currently directs the behavioral science curriculum at the University of Washington Family Medicine Residency program. She is licensed in the state of Washington as a Marriage and Family Therapist. She received her MS from Seattle Pacific University and Presbyterian Counseling Services in Seattle, WA. and trained in collaborative care settings at both Group Health Cooperative and the University of Washington. She has taught medical students, residents, community faculty and therapists for over 6 years. Her teaching interests include relationship-centered medicine, physician self-awareness, mindfulness and mind-body medicine. Valerie has studied Yoga since 1989. She has also studied Tai Chi and Chi Gong. She has had an active meditation practice for at least 10 years. Her studies in mind-body skills have included international workshops with Jon Kabat-Zinn and Jean Klein. She has also studied locally with Treya Forlenza. When she isn't working she is playing music, hiking, reading and hanging out with friends and her cat.
