blah University of Washington

We are a group of UW graduate students and scholars who study modernisms and modernity from a variety of disciplinary perspectives. To that end we organize and publicize events of interest to our members such as lectures, conferences, and reading groups. In addition, we act as an academic resource for those studying modernisms.

As of March 2005, The Modernist Studies Group is pleased to be have its application for support as a research cluster accepted by the Simpson Center for the Humanities at the University of Washington, Seattle. Thanks to this support, the Modernist Studies Group is enabled to continue its activities of hosting reading meetings and, in the future, bringing noteworthy and relevant academics to campus. Thanks to the hard work of group members which has made this possible.
