Archy 304, Fall 2002
New World Archaeology

Poster Project

In the first half of the quarter students will work on and present informative posters on the hunter-gatherer archaeology (Archaic Period) from a region of choice in the Americas.  Groups of 4-5 students will collaborate in the research, writing, design, and presentation of these posters. This will require detailed library research, working with sometimes difficult academic articles, drawing up illustrations, captions, and summary text, and combining it all into a collaborative exhibit. The week of October 18-22 are set aside for work on these projects and lectures will be suspended.

On Oct. 27, These poster exhibits will be introduced to the class through short presentations, and the posters will be mounted on the basement walls of Denny Hall for students and others to view. More detailed instructions will be distributed within the first week of class.
