There were no goats on the roof of the market in Coombs BC. There was a grass roof and goats, but not in the right places.

We all left Seattle in two UW vans and few private vehicles My van, the cargo van, softened up customs enough (”What are you going to put in our waters?!) that the other van got through easier. The 70 km long gravel road softened us all up enough to arrive tired but happy at beautiful Bamfield Marine Science Center on the west coast of Vancouver Island. We were late for dinner, but it was held for us.
We spend the rest of the evening unpacking our equipment and moving in. I’ve got the garrett bedroom in the faculty cabin. It’s much like typical ski condo. More than pleasant enough.
