This will be an active, working conference and we have Great Expectations about collaboratively identifying novel, Regions X – specific priorities and developing best-practice recommendations that will:

Recognize and promote shared foundations, terminology, regulatory requirements, and common practices for ethical interaction between academic and industry partners

Define best practices for sharing data and biological samples, including maintaining and building research repositories

Elevate the understanding of cross cultural and global ethical policies

How are we going to realize these Great Expectations? When you register for the conference you will be asked to designate a Working Group to which you will be affiliated for the duration of the conference. When you get to the conference, share your ideas, your experiences, your recommendations in the Panel, Interactive, and Working Group sessions*. The Working Groups will identify and assimilate the conference priorities into a report that will be published for the collective benefit of all the meeting participants, and for broader local, regional, and national dissemination.

Our sponsors have charged us with assessing the overall impact of this conference. From time to time after the conference our Evaluation Committee will contact you requesting information (via short surveys) about who you’ve talked to about the conference (they’ll want names!) and how you’ve incorporated the policy, process, and best practice recommendations that you took away from the conference into your daily work and research activities.

This conference is for all those interested in discussing the issues, policy, and best practices that govern the ethical foundations of interdisciplinary collaborations and committed to elevating these ideals in the broader scientific community. We look forward to your participation!

*Participants are invited to submit an original abstract when registering for the conference. For more information about abstract submission see “How do I submit an abstract?” FAQ and the Submit an Abstract page
