Suggested Timetable for Assignments

IF I WERE A STUDENT IN THIS CLASS, THIS IS THE SCHEDULE THAT I WOULD TRY TO FOLLOW IN TERMS OF FINISHING EACH READING AND THEN PREPARING SPECIFICALLY FOR EACH OF THE EXAMS.

Reading Schedule for Exam 2, Fall, 2014

ASSIGNMENT
FINISH BY (end of)

Chapter 6
Tues, 10/21
Chapter 7
Sun, 10/26

Chapter 8
Thurs, 10/30

Chap 12
Tues, 11/4

Studying for Exam 2 : Assuming that you have all the readings done by Tues, 11/4, you now have 5 days -- including the weekend days -- to prepare for Exam 2. Spend serious time each day, or at least 4 of the 5 days, reviewing the chapters and your class notes. Don't leave it all for the last minute.  You'll find that there is simply too much information.

IF you have a major assignment (exam, paper) due for another course around the same time as our Exam 2, then move up your completion dates of the readings by1 or 2 days, so that you can divide your time between your other assignment and our Exam 2 with less time pressure on you.

Exam 2
Monday, 11/10

Reading Schedule for Exam 3, Fall 2014

ASSIGNMENT
FINISH BY (end of)

Chapter 17
Sun, 11/16

Chapter 13
Wed, 11/19

Chapter  15: Disorders
Note: Be sure to finish this chapter before doing Activity #4, which will be due on Wednesday, 11/26.
Mon, 11/24

Chapter 16: Therapy

Tues, 12/2

Studying for Exam 3 : Assuming that you have all the readings done by Thursday, May 30, you'll have 5 days before the final exam (Exam 3) to study seriously for it. IF YOU HAVE 1 or more other finals or projects due on the same day during finals week as our last exam, then leave yourself even more time. Don't leave leave your studying for the last minute. Even though our last exam is NOT cumulative across the whole quarter, you'll find that there is simply too much information covered on this test to cram it in just a few days.

Thanksgiving: I suggest finishing Chap 14 by the date above -- 11/24 -- and then trying to read 1/2 of Chap 16 before Thanksgiving. This way, you can finish the other half after Thanksgiving (by Tues, 12/2) and have 5 days left to study before our final exam.

Exam 3
(Not Cumulative)

Monday, 12/8
Starts at 2:30 p.m.
Ends at 3:20 p.m.
ARC 147
(i.e., this exam is within our official scheduled final exam period)

Studying for Exam 1: Assuming that you have all the readings done by Thursday, 10/9, you now have 5 days -- including the weekend days -- to prepare for Exam 1. Spend serious time each of these days reviewing the chapters and your class notes. Don't leave it all for the last minute.  You'll find that there is simply too much information.

IF you have a major assignment (exam, paper) due for another course around the same time as our Exam 1 date, then move up your completion dates of the readings by 1 or 2 days, so that you can divide your time between your other assignment and our Exam 1 with less time pressure on you.
