Suggested Timetable for Assignments: Exam 3

IF I WERE A STUDENT IN THIS CLASS, THIS IS THE SCHEDULE THAT I WOULD TRY TO FOLLOW IN TERMS OF FINISHING EACH READING AND THEN PREPARING SPECIFICALLY FOR EXAM 3.

Exam 3, Fall 2009

ASSIGNMENT
FINISH BY (end of)

Chapter 17
Monday, 11/23

Chapter 13
Monday, 11/30

Note: Be sure to finish this chapter before doing Activity #4, which will be due on Monday, 12/7
Friday, 12/4

Chapter 16: Therapy

Wednesday, 12/9

Studying for Exam 3 : Assuming that you have all the readings done by December 9 you'll have 4 days before the final exam (Exam 3) to study seriously for it. IF YOU HAVE 1 or more other finals or projects due on the same day as our last exam, then leave yourself even more time. Don't leave leave your studying for the last minute. Even though our last exam is NOT cumulative across the whole quarter, you'll find that there is simply too much information covered on this test to cram it in just a few days.

Exam 3
(Not Cumulative)

Monday, 12/14

Starts at 9:20 p.m.
Ends at 10:20 p.m.

Chapter 7
Mon, 11/2

Chapter 8
Fri, 11/6

Chap 12
Wed, 11/11

Studying for Exam 2 : Assuming that you have all the readings done by Wed, 11/11, you now have 5 days -- including the weekend days -- to prepare for Exam 1. Spend serious time each day, or at least 4 of the 5 days, reviewing the chapters and your class notes. Don't leave it all for the last minute.  You'll find that there is simply too much information.

IF you have a major assignment (exam, paper) due for another course around the same time as our Exam 2, then move up your completion dates of the readings by1 or 2 days, so that you can divide your time between your other assignment and our Exam 1 with less time pressure on you.

Exam 2

Studying for Exam 1: Assuming that you have all the readings done by Wednesday 10/16, you now have 4 days -- including the weekend days -- to prepare for Exam 1. Spend serious time each of these reviewing the chapters and your class notes. Don't leave it all for the last minute.  You'll find that there is simply too much information.

IF you have a major assignment (exam, paper) due for another course around the same time as our Exam 1, then move up your completion dates of Chapters 3, 4 and 5 by 1 or 2 days, so that you can divide your time between your other assignment and our Exam 1 with less time pressure on you.
