Supplemental Homework
- Supplemental homework consists of problems from the textbook
that are
linked to each lecture. To get the most benefit from these
problems, you should do them immediately following the lecture where
the material is covered. That way, you can ask questions in the
following class. Supplemental HW is due once each week through WebAssign.
Problems are associated with each lecture, and are posted and available
from the previous Friday after class and due the following Monday
evening (e.g., posted Sept 26 for lectures 3, 4 and 5, and due October
6).
- From http://www.webassign.net/washington/login.html,
when you hit the login button you will be redirected to the UWNetID
login page (here at UW). Use your UWNetID and password, and then
you will be redirected to the WebAssign system. Our class is
Physics 121, Section C. The first HW set is posted, due Monday
night.
- The problems for WebAssign are also listed on the syllabus, so you can get the benefit of
working the problems even if you choose not to purchase a WebAssign
access.
- If you bought a new text at the UW bookstore, you should
have received a card with access to WebAssign at no extra charge when
you
purchased your text. There was a glitch in the ordering process,
however, and the bookstore bundled access to Physics Portal,
instead, for the first few weeks that the text was in the
bookstore. If you received a Physics Portal access code instead
of WebAssign, bring it back to the bookstore for an exchange.
- If you bought your book used or from somewhere other than
the UW Bookstore, you can purchase a WebAssign access code (I think it
is $10 -- please let me know if it is different) when you log on.
- Through WebAssign, you also have the option of purchasing
access to an electronic copy of the text for a fraction of the
hard-copy price.
