Course Overview

This class is the core required course for UW's Nanotechnology Dual Degree Ph.D. Program.   The course is designed to give an overview of nanotechnology, with emphasis on activities at the University of Washington.  Roughly half the class periods will be presentations by UW faculty in the Center for Nanotechnology discussing research on campus.  One quarter will address background core material common to many aspects of nanoscale science and technology.  The remaining quarter will be spent addressing connections between nanotechnology research and society (tech transfer, ethics, products, etc.).

The course is open to all graduate students and advanced undergraduates.  It is aimed at graduate students starting their research in UW's nanotechnology Ph.D. program.
