5:00pm-6:00pm in Health Sciences Building, Room T-739

Dennis Hanson, PhD

Senior Technology Manager
CoMotion, Seattle, WA

Dennis Hanson is currently Senior Manager at CoMotion in the Innovation Development group.  He works with UW researchers to help in the process of pushing ideas out of the laboratory and into the real world.  Prior to 10 years in academic technology transfer, Dennis worked at two Seattle-area biotech companies, was both a Research Scientist and Research Assistant Professor at UW, and did a post-doctoral fellowship at the Benaroya Research Institute after completing his PhD at Stanford University.  Dennis plans to relay a few of the twists and turns that led him to a satisfying career that allows him to use his technical background but also grow career-wise with business and law related skills, as well offer a snapshot of academic technology transfer.
