Do you enjoy the organization and planning aspects of science more than working at the bench? Consider a career in scientific program management! Dr. Alison Mehravari is the Assistant Director of Operations for two multidisciplinary research institutes based at the University of Washington: the UW Institute for Neuroengineering and the Air Force Center of Excellence on Nature-Inspired Flight Technologies and Ideas. She oversees the financial and day-to-day operations of both institutes, including strategic planning, management of large multi-year budgets, fellowship program management, and conference organization. Alison obtained her Ph.D. in Neurobiology and Behavior from the University of Washington.
