5:00pm-6:00pm in Health Sciences Building, Room T-739
Andrew Hellman, Ph.D, E.L.S.
Quest Diagnostics, Seattle, WA
Andrew Hellman has always liked writing, but he didn’t make it a career until he finished his doctorate. He earned his PhD at Stanford University, where he studied neurobiology in C. elegans. He now works for Quest Diagnostics, and his main responsibilities are writing educational literature aimed at physicians and editing scientific publications (e.g., abstracts, posters, manuscripts, slides). Andrew’s career has included writing or editing science-based pieces for student publications, freelancers, a science museum, Nature News, a startup, and a large corporation. He looks forward to sharing how he became a medical writer and providing some background on the field.
