Paul Moran, Ph.D.
Research Geneticist, Northwest Fisheries Science Center
In the past three decades, the field of genetics has exploded and transformed the study of biology. Opportunities that unfolded for biologists in the past may not be available now, but new opportunities present themselves. Career paths can seem haphazard and accidental, but with some insight and hard work you can still “write your own ticket” to a rewarding and satisfying career. Dr. Paul Moran will discuss how you can position yourself to take advantage of “lucky breaks.”
Dr. Paul Moran is a Research Geneticist in the Genetics and Evolution Program of the Conservation Biology Division at the Northwest Fisheries Science Center. Moran’s lab focuses on the application of genetic methods to explore the interface of basic and applied science in marine conservation.
