Condensed Matter Physics I

Assignments

This list of reading and problems will be added to as we go along. Each problem should be handed in as a separate entity. You can hand them in any time during the quarter, to me directly or by putting them in my mailbox. I'll keep a record of which ones you've attempted and when you handed it in. The solutions (if I can solve them!) will be posted here about a week after the class where we talk about the material. I do expect to see evidence that you are putting time into the problems and reading. I don't expect you to solve all the problems. You have a wide range of interests and motivations. I would suggest that those doing condensed matter research study for at least ten hours a week, because this stuff is very important for you! There are always more problems in the books to do, and you can even make up your own!
